GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT WARSAW
Warsaw is the capital of Poland, the biggest Polish city on the Vistula River banks, where
1651 inhabitants live (according to the survey from 2001)
For the last 10 years, it is Alexander Kwasniewski who has been assuming the role of the President of Poland. He lives at Krakowskie Przedmieście Street in Warsaw. Whereas, the position of the President of Warsaw is occupied by Lech Kaczyński.
Warsaw is an important scientific, cultural, political and economic center.

Warsaw can be easily reached by air, train, bus and car. Twenty - three airlines provide a good direct connection with practically all European capitals (mostly within 2 hours flight), as well as with dozen of cities on the other continents. Railway and coach lines connect Warsaw directly with most capitals and big cities on the continent. The Okęcie Airport is located 10 km from downtown Warsaw.
